Here’s another one from the Super Doug vaults of 2007, back when I was obsessed with Lucha Libre and Japanese toy robots.

I used to love the Japanese monster movies when I was kid like Rodan, Mothra, Ghidorah, and of course Godzilla. I also remember getting the “Mazinga” Shogun Warrior toy in 1977, the same year that the original Star Wars came out. It was 24” of glorious Mattel-made plastic that shot rockets from its hand, had wheels on it feet, and a pilot ship that attached to its head. I slept with it. I still would if I owned it.
