Bones Ripper FM
My friends and I were a bunch of misfit kids from the suburbs of Seattle who crawled our way into the punk scene in the early 80s, hanging out on “the Ave.” in Seattle’s U-District, the clubs of Pioneer Square, and Capitol Hill. Skateboarding was a big part of that scene, as was Fallout Records.
My brother had a Powell & Peralta Bones Ripper board and later he got the tattoo. So for his birthday I painted this most famous monster of 80s skateboarding.
p.s. if you think you were into “grunge” and you don’t know The Melvins then you don’t know Seattle music. Check out Eye Flys.
