This was the first painting in my Famous Monsters series. I loved wrestling during it’s heyday in the 80s. The spectacle, the drama, and the characters… I ate it up.

This painting was a Match Game of sorts, beginning with King Kong and King Kong Bundy. Unfortunately this Match Game doesn’t include Gene Rayburn, Bert Sommers, or Charles Nelson Reilly, but CNR is a frequent guest of the Super Doug Art Show.
